91) Type VI pallet

Double-faced, double-wing, reversible pallet.

92) Storage aisle

An access route to storage areas such as rack bays, slots for pallets, bins or containers.

93) Stringer

The support beams of a pallet which generally are placed at right angles to the deckboards and designated as edge stringers or center stringers.

94) Stringer board

A component of a pallet that is a solid board placed between the deckboard and the block and extending the full length of a block pallet.

95) Tie

Term used to describe a layer of product positioned in a unit load or on a pallet.

96) Tie down

A means by which a unit load is secured to a pallet, usually by means of stretch wrapping, shrink wrapping or strapping.

97) Tier

Generally refers to one layer of a unitized pallet load.  Also, may refer to layers of storage which are of the same height.

98) Underhang

Refers to the less than complete utilization of the full pallet area and is generally the amount of space between the outer edge of the cartons or packages and the edges of the pallet.

99) Uniformly distributed load.

The per square inch weight of the pallet load does not vary from one point to another on the pallet.  Indicates that the load on a pallet is evenly distributed. Any static load which is evenly distributed over the entire surface of the rack deck. A load, as on a shelf, or pair of load beams, supported by all, or nearly all of the shelf or beam supporting surfaces

100) Wrap around

An attachment to a pallet which, when placed on the top of a pallet load, adds support and stability to the load and enables pallet loads to be stacked one upon the other.

101) Reversible pallet

A pallet designed and constructed to use both the top and bottom deckboards as load bearing members.  This pallet has identical top and bottom decks.

102) Single deck pallet

A pallet possessing one load bearing deck.

103) Pallet dispenser

A pallet feeder is a device used for feeding empty pallets.    It is often known as a pallet dispenser.

The first dimension stated in categorizing or describing a pallet

105) Polypropylene plastic

A thermoplastic resin that is hard and tough and has increased optics.  Functions well in thermo-formed applications such as pallets and containers.
