1) Slip sheet

Often a piece of cardboard or plastic sheeting on which a load is placed and is moved/removed with a special fork lift equipped like forks with rollers and/or push pull attachment.

2) Push Pull Equipment

Hydraulic fork lift truck attachment which can be used for palletless handling applications. The pushpull attachment needs to be used in combination with a slipsheets. Another attachment for palletless handling operations are special lift truck forks which contain two layers of rollers.

3) Telescoping lift truck forks (hydraulic forks)

Hydraulic lift truck forks that can be used for one sided loading, double-deep stacking and as hydraulic fork extensions.

4) Walkie stacker

A power operated device controlled by an operator standing behind it, which lifts, stacks, and transports pallets.

5) Lift cart

A hand cart with a scissor or mast supported lifting platform.

6) Magnetic belt conveyor

A steel belt and either a magnetic slider bed or magnetic pulley is used to transport ferrous materials vertically, upside down, and around corners.

7) Platform truck

Industrial truck with a platform rather than forks for supporting the load: it cannot lift, load or unload.

8) Automated dispenser

A series of vertical product dispensers which kick individual units of products out the bottom onto a conveyor.

9) Arm conveyor

A conveyor consisting of an endless belt, one or more chains, to which are attached projecting arms, or shelves, for handling packages or objects in a vertical or inclined path.

10) Mobile equipment

Material handling equipment that is designed to move within and outside a facility to transport materials, people and maintenance/service supplies.  Such equipment can range from industrial trucks, personnel carriers, lifts and AGV's.

11) End/side edge load capacity

The maximum amount of static load that can be applied to the edge of a platform (end or side) when the lift is in any raised position.

12) Interlock

A device to prevent lift movement when the landing gate is not fully closed and to prevent the landing gate from being opened unless the lift platform is present at that landing.

13) Lift tables

A scissors lift device used to raise, lower, stack, convey and/or transfer material between two or more elevations and not limited to landing.

14) Lifting capacity

The rated load of a material handling lifting device (i.e., scissors lift, hoist) applied as uniformly distributed load.

15) Platform ends

The edges of the lift platform that are perpendicular to the scissor legs.  The end dimension is considered the platform width.
