1) Maintenance diagnostics

A process by which the frequency, amount and cost of maintenance to buildings and machines is evaluated on an on-going basis.  Such a process ensures that the buildings and machines at a facility are being maintained at the correct levels in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. Software programs designed specifically for this purpose are available.

2) Lumbar Motion Monitor

An electronic device that is usually attached to the lumbar (lower back) portion of a worker's body and "records/reads" the types, frequency and amount of exertion on that worker's lumbar. An ergonomic tool to assist in preventing lower back injuries.

3) Identification solutions

Products such as placards, holders and nameplates that permanently or temporarily identify containers, racks, and pallets.

4) Read/Write Tag

Technology that allows for a identification tag to be programmed and revised while the tag is still on the container, rack or pallet.

5) Label identification system

The system employed in identifying products and containers by use of various types of labels/placards/holders.

6) Pouch placard system

An identification/labeling procedure that utilizes plastic or paper pouches to house or container any necessary paperwork that should accompany a container, pallet or box.

7) Wireless controls

Just as the name denotes, these controlling devices utilize laser, radio and infrared medium to a relay information to various types of material handling equipment.

8) Automatic data capture

The technologies that support the identification and direct collection of data into a computer system or other micro-processor-controlled device without using a keyboard.  Such technologies include bar code, radio frequency data communication, radio frequency identification and other emerging technologies.

9) Auto ID

Automatic identification.  A system which utilizes bar codes and other symbologies to provide information.

10) Package detection

The use of sensors to identify the presence of an object typically to actuate another device for the process of identification, sorting, sizing, etc.

11) Active face

The surface of an inductive proximity sensor where a high frequency electromagnetic field emerges, although there is no direct magnetic field occurring.

12) Radio controlled

Means by which a material handling device or piece of equipment is controlled by receiving commands via radio frequencies sent to an onboard receiver.  Allows the equipment or device to be controlled remotely and out of harm's way.

13) Radio control

A communication medium through which motor, drives and controls receive direction over radio waves emitted from hand-held and equipment mounted transmitters.
