3) Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) Industry Group
CMAA is the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc., an independent trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry. CMAA traces its roots to the Electric Overhead Crane Institute, known as EOCI, which was founded in 1927 by leading crane manufacturers of that time to promote the standardization of cranes as well as uniform quality and performance. The voluntary association was incorporated as the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc. in 1955. Member Companies, representing the industry leaders in the overhead crane industry, serve the United States market from operations based in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
4) Crane Association
The Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc. (CMAA) , an independent trade association affiliated with the United States Division of Material Handling Industry. The voluntary association of CMAA members has existed since 1955. Member companies represent industry leaders in the overhead crane market.

5) Crane Manufacturers
As applies to Members of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), this term usually applies to manufacturers of overhead traveling cranes, jib cranes, stacker cranes, and gantry cranes to the exclusion of mobile cranes, tower cranes or devices otherwise referred to as construction cranes.
6) Testing
The Material Handling Industry of America is an ANSI accredited standard developing entity. The various Product Sections affiliated with MHIA have developed a number of testing and design standards for various types of material handling equipment. The Material Handling Industry houses the Material Handling Institute Bookstore which contains a significant amount of literature related to the industry. 9) Justmat
A comprehensive, user-friendly software decision support system geared for both individual and team use. Developed in visual basic for use on a PC in Microsoft Windows operating environment, the system supports the detailed analysis of discounted cash flow as well as the anticipated benefits that are not easy to quantify in terms of dollar returns. The software and the user manual come complete on a CD ROM. 10) Return on investment
A management tool that calculates the income of a material handling investment or project and divides this income by the cost of the assets devoted to the investment or project.
A valuable tool when calculating the " economic justification " of a material handling investment.
11) Simulation
A technique used to test-drive or simulate the operation of a material handling system in a production or warehousing facility. A computer generated model is created to represent the proposed system and the flow of product is "sent" through the model. The efficiency of the proposed system can thereby be gauged prior to the actual installation of the system.
12) Reliability
The measure of how well a material handling device or system will perform in a production situation. Measure is based upon how well the device or system performs without interruption in service due to mechanical or control failure.
13) Flooring
The design of a floor in a building or mezzanine is an important ingredient in the reliability and safety of that building or mezzanine. Worker-friendly floors are imperative if ergonomic considerations are to be addressed. The strength and stability of the floor is an important consideration as the floor must adequately support the machinery and moving vehicles utilized in the material handling system.
