1) Interlock

A device to prevent lift movement when the landing gate is not fully closed and to prevent the landing gate from being opened unless the lift platform is present at that landing.

2) Gondola shelving

A floor mounted shelving system utilizing cantilevered shelves extending from one or both sides of a rigid vertical back. This form of shelving is common in retail establishments due to its ease of movement and reconfiguration.

3) Horizontal Carousels

As a storage device, a horizontal carousel consists of a fixed number of adjacent storage columns or bays that are mechanically linked to either an overhead or floor mounted drive mechanism to form a complete loop. Each column is divided into a fixed number of storage location or bins which in most applications are constructed of a welded wire frame. Loads consisting of containers or totes may be inserted and retrieved either manually or by an automatic inserter/extractor mechanism. However, rotation of the carousel, whereby a specific storage location is brought to the picking location, is almost always controlled automatically. 4) Indentation type pressure gripping lifter

A lifter that clamps the load and supports it by indenting the load in areas in contact with the lifter.

5) Industrial crane

A machine for lifting and lowering a load, and moving it horizontally.  Drives may be manual, power, or a combination of both and utilized totally in an industrial environment.

6) Gear motor

A commonly used term that designates a hoist that derives its lifting and lowering power from a mechanical setup involving a gear set and pneumatic or electric motor.

7) Gantry crane

A crane similar to an overhead crane except that the bridge for carrying the trolley or trolleys (with lifting device) is rigidly supported on two or more legs running on fixed rails or other runway.

8) Industrial scissor lift

A raising/lowering device that is supported or stabilized by one or more pantograph leg sections.

9) Hoists

A suspended machinery unit that is used for lifting or lowering a freely suspended (unguided) load.  May be manually operated or electrically or pneumatically driven and may use chain or wire rope as its lifting medium.
