Electrification and Controls Manufacturers Association (ACE) members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of electrification and controlling devices. They supply solutions worldwide and in virtually every major manufacturing and distribution sector.
Devices that control, service and enhance productivity of industrial handling including:
A|C|E brings together the leading suppliers and component manufacturers to educate, promote, specify and properly apply safe and reliable solutions for an automated world.
To be recognized as the guiding authority of electrical control systems in automated solutions.
This standard applies to AC Inverters for use on electric overhead, monorail, and gantry traveling cranes. AC Inverters are also referred to as variable frequency drives, adjustable frequency drives, or variable speed drives.
Purchase Standard
This standard provides minimum requirements and guidelines for alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrification systems for electric overhead, monorail, and gantry traveling cranes. Electrification systems include conductor bars, festoon systems, cable chains, spring driven reels, and motor driven reels.
Purchase Standard
This standard provides the minimum requirements and guidelines for cable-less controls of electric overhead traveling cranes. A cable-less control device as referenced in this standard uses radio
frequency signals to control the movements and actions of said cranes for applications such as material handling. This standard is referenced in
CMAA Specification #70,
Specifications for Top Running & Gantry Type Multiple Girder Electric Overhead Traveling Cranes, and
CMAA Specification #74,
Specifications for Top Running & Under Running Single Girder Electric Traveling Cranes Utilizing Under Running Trolley Hoist.
These specifications contain information and references specific to electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes.

The question of Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD) shelf life is actually a question of capacitor shelf life. There is a point at which that spare drive on the shelf will require maintenance prior to applying rated line voltage. This white paper summarizes the issues and the solutions.

The 2023 ACE Honor Scholarships (two, $3,000) have been awarded to the following students:
Alan Meenan, Oklahoma State University
Alan is a senior Industrial Engineering student at Oklahoma State University. He completed an eight-week internship at Amazon where he was placed in the quality department of the Amazon warehouse. The project he was given was to develop a solution to prevent associate-caused quality defects before they happened. After graduation, Alan plans to enter the workforce.
Rachel Gentile, Clarkson University
Rachel is a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student at Clarkson University. She is a Presidential Scholar, and she has won an honorary science award from Bausch & Lomb. She enjoys problem solving and improving systems.
