Unloading Liquor Bottles with Destuff-it

A liquor distributor unloaded 1,920 containers of internationally-sourced vintage wine each year. Due to the product’s fragility, two workers were manually unloading each shipment that contained 1,148 individual cases of wine onto a flexible roller conveyor. Repetitive lifting, twisting, and overreaching resulted in musculoskeletal injuries among many workers. The company’s health and safety committee decided that an ergonomic intervention could protect workers and improve warehouse productivity.
