Field Service Technician - Conveyor Installer (South)


SUMMARY: LogistiQ, a Division of LEWCO is a fast-growing conveyor equipment supplier for customers in retail, ecommerce & distribution located in Port Clinton, Ohio. With deep roots in American ingenuity, LogistiQ has the experience of a 100-year-old company but operates much like a start-up with high energy and nimble speed.

We are seeking a skilled Conveyor Field Installation Technician to install, commission, and maintain our conveyor systems on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical installation, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in installing conveyor equipment. The Conveyor Field Installation Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all on-site installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Install and commission conveyor equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project manager and internal teams
  • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, sales, and customer service to ensure project success
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation, preferably in the conveyor industry
  • Knowledge of conveyor system design, installation, and maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel to client sites frequently.
  • Physical ability to work in a field installation environment, including the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals, engineering drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Fluent in reading and writing English.
  • Understanding of Spanish is a plus.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have technical ability to use a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop computer

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to use multi hand and power tools associated with conveyor installation.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms and pick up items of at least 50 lbs.
  • Employee will be exposed to materials that have SDS sheets but are not life threatening.
  • Ability to climb ladders, operate a forklift and scissor lift and practice proper safety per OSHA standards.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
